Leah is back on board

Looks like Leah will be staying until June. Hope you can all still make it this weekend though!

No, it's great news.

I have to say I am a bit disappointed that no-one has written anything on the blog so far... Let's see some lesson updates and at the very least everyone on the project should be a member!

See you here very soon.

Leah's Visa

There is something that everyone on the Dhag Deer project needs to be aware of. Leah has been having some visa issues - the immigration kind - and there is a strong possibility that she will have to leave the country in a month's time. Sniff.

If this does happen I have a replacement lined up. Her name is Soheila Dolton and she coordinates TTV production for Available Light.

Obviously I hope this will not have to be the case but we need to plan for any eventualities.

Cheers x

Directing workshop 1 and Location Workshop 1

Hi Everyone

Just to update you on my lesson last Saturday. The directing workshop went really well, the kids were really engaged and actually picked up a lot during the two hours. I went through shot types, genre and getting coverage when shooting a scene.

In the afternoon only one kid turned up for the location workshop. (This may have been due to room issues. Internal politics at The Academy by all accounts. Lisa is booking a room for every weekend until June so that should not be a problem next week.) Abdi did really well and we motored through the script, identifying all the locations. He is writing everything up for homework. Next session I want to take him and his two assistants out on location hunts. Leah should be there with me because of the girl issue.

There won't be any sessions till after half term.

Cheers

Oli x
